emBodhi life coaching

emBodhi life coaching is a series of conversations which effectively blends questioning, listening, observation and feedback. Conversations rich in insight and learning that enable sustained change and, ultimately, your embodied transformation. You may want to be prepared for the following:

  1. My focus is on what you feel, think, and experience, not your problem. You’re not a problem, nor a patient, and I’m not a fixer. My role is not to propose a solution, but rather to actively encourage and guide you to find your own. You’ll come to your own new learnings, gaining your own new insights and seeing your own new perspective. That is all you need to be on a transformational path.

  2. In service of your totality we’ll be looking deep into feelings and emotions you may or may not be aware of . Especially those you don’t want to feel (or unconsciously suppress). This is deep work, especially when it comes to core emotions such as fear, guilt or shame. emBodhi coaching is not about making you feel better. It is about making you feel more.

  3. Since thinking is not the only way of knowing I’ll check in with your body a lot, its sensations and experiences. So don’t look to your mind for an answer. If your mind had an answer, you wouldn’t be on this website.

  4. To gain the most from coaching, don’t hold back. Say what your mind doesn’t want you to say. Voice what you don’t voice to anyone else. Express what your body had always longed to express. Don’t apply any filters. Allow your life force to be heard.

  5. Try not to overthink the process. Allow new thinking and insights to originate from a place of not knowing. Only from a place of not knowing can a new possibility and transformation emerge. To your mind this will be unfamiliar. Initially, you’ll meet resistance… from yourself.

  6. Be prepared for silence. Silence allows you to go deeper into what you feel. Besides, there is never real silence; your body speaks all the time. You communicate with your breathing pattern, your posture and shape for everyone else to see. Your mind can lie, but the body never does. 

  7. I’ll challenge your behaviour (but not your person), I’ll challenge your assumptions (but not your intellect), I’ll challenge your perceptions (but not your judgements), I’ll challenge your values (but not your value). And I expect you to fire me if I don’t challenge you enough.

  8. Your mind consists of many sub-characters. You may wish some of them would disappear while you are not even aware of others. Be prepared to embrace ALL parts of who you are which is necessary to feel whole.

  9. As long as you believe that the coaching process better stays in the closet, you won’t see the change. You need to acknowledge and share with your friends/family that you started on a path to transformational change. And you won’t succeed because I’m a great coach. You’ll succeed because you are a great client.

  10. All insights and learnings are ineffective unless it is followed by action between the coaching sessions. It is the actions you take that will fuel your transformation. Being coached by me requires commitment and self-discipline in terms of time, energy, and focus. If you want your life to be different, you have to be willing to live it differently.
